Which BBE Sonic Maxmizer do I want

Ok, so I use an ADA MP-1, and will be getting a Mesa 20/20 in awhile. I have heard that BBE SM's make a nice difference. There are a lot of models... so which should I get for my bedroom guitar hero sessions!

I have a 462 model and I'm very satisfied with it. I don't use it very often, but when I do, it makes a helluvalot of difference. Good for watching DVDs, too.

I have the exact setup that you do. ADA MP-1 and a Mesa 20/20. I use a BBE 482 and it definately helps tremendously. I don't run it through the effects loop of the ADA, I just go ADA into BBE into Mesa 20/20.

For $99 that MF is blowing them out for, you can't go wrong.

I thought I'd resurrect this topic rather than start a new one: Tomorrow morning I'm picking up a BBE Stinger pedal, which is apparently a sonic maximizer in pedal form. It's only fifty bucks (that's about $35 US), woohoo.
If it's any good I might get the 'real thing' and get a bit of a rack happening. I found a second hand music store that has a huge pile of rack gear, so I may pick up a Quadraverb or something.

The store is in Carlton, Music Swop Shop. They had an ADA MP-1 and a Hafler T3 last time I was there *droooool*
I used to be in a band with a guy who had a Quadraverb and it seemed fine for subtle delays, which is really all I'd use it for. I have an inate aversion to effects like phasing, flanging and tremolo going through the effects loop. They belong on the floor.
Maybe I'll get a Yamaha something-or-other. I don't know, I'm very new to rack gear, since I don't have any, y'know, rack gear.

Let me guess:

Lesson #1: Bigger is Better
Lesson #2: Not only do they sound cool, the blinking light make them look more expensive

One unfortunate side effect is that if you position your gear for the shortest cable runs, you'll be a little sad because it always looks bad. But if you load the rack the way it would look the coolest you have to make awkward cable runs and pick up noise. And doesn't it suck when you have two things that have blue paint and the blues don't match? And wouldn't it be great if everyone could decide on a uniform location for the display screens, so they all lined up?
Oh yeah, the old BBE's could be remote bypassed. Then they took that away. I don't know if the new ones can be pedal bypassed, so I loop it. (not an fx loop inside a piece of gear, but a rockman loop) but I find it imperative for certain vintagey, jazzy, and fluid solo sounds to have it off. By the way, one of them is an "SW" with the subwoofer out looped to my 15's. If I have the 15's "subbed" and the 12's and 10's blasting, its fantastic. Everyone needs a "switchable guitar sub"
