It really depends on your budget.
If you have a low budget, get something like a G Major or Intellifex.
If you have a medium budget, get a G Force or Lexicon.
If you have a high budget, get an Eventide or Lexicon PCM 81.

DO NOT rely on a processor to get distortion from. If you really need a processor with distortion, get a Digitech 2120. Even though digitech is garbage in comparison, it will give you what you want for cheap.
But it really depends on what your expectations are for your sound.

You have to know what you want first, then decide.

First of all the Digitech 2120 IS NOT GARBAGE! I'm not sure if the Digitech floor models were being referred to in the last post... I use a 2120 (not cheap either at around $500 last time I checked) and it will do almost anything you want. My only complaint with it is not very easy to use until you have it set up the way you want. You have to set each parameter to your liking by scrollng through menu after menu. But once it's set up your patches are available at the touch of a footswitch.

If you have more time and capacity for the 2120's learning curve than I do, it may be just what you're looking for. (There's also the original 2101 and 2112 -- the precursor to the 2120.)

I said "in comparison"
I'm comparing it to good gear like TC Electronics, Lexicon, Eventide etc.
For a cheap unit, like I said, the 2120 is good if you have a low budget.
It's like comparing an ADA MP1/MP2 to a real amp like CAE, Bogner, VHT, Engl, etc.

Gearjunky, there you go again: "good gear", "real amp"! Oh, my amp isn't real? It's a figment of my imagination, is it? There is nothing wrong with the 2120 or their rack products regardless of budget. The 2120 goes used for what the G-Major goes for new, if I'm not mistaken. So I don't understand that argument. Either way, just because I don't have a mortgage out for my equipment doesn't make it any worse than yours.

Remember, it's almost all about opinion. Don't superimpose your opinion as fact please.

tonluvara, if you're looking for an all-inclusive processor for a modest investment, the Digitech rack products are good products. My 2120 has nearly every effect I could want and decent distortion. I explained what I didn't like about it in my previous post.

No, I am only stating my own experienced opinion, and trying to find out what this guy is looking for, and what his budget is. So please do not get offended. For all we know he could be looking for super high end gear or just the opposite.
I just sold a 2120 because it's of no use to me with a rack system.
The new price on a G Major is about $360 which is relatively cheap when it comes to GOOD rack gear. It's definately the best bang for the buck out there if that's all you want to spend.
You can build a $500 rack system or a $50,000 system. That's why I would like to know what he's looking for.
So sit back and relax, and let's wait for his response.
You should not take personal offense to someones opinion on gear. I just think that a 2120 is entry level stuff. Sorry, nothing personal. It's my opinion of digitech.

i just need some opinions on which multi effect should i get.. just give your personal opinion.. if you can, please dont even comment on other people's.. let's keep this a peaceful forum

and oh btw, my budget (sadly) would be somewhere on the $350.. preferably cheaper but not too much more expensive.. or maybe is it better to get some single effects?

Hi,

I am using the Boss GX700, a Rackversion of the GT5...

it has analoge Distortions (AFAIK), Wah, Comp, Chorus etc, all in Boss Quality and goes relativly cheap 2nd hand (well, it is out of production).

The unit is like having lots of Boss-Pedals in one Rackspace.

Another nice unit is the Roland GP8, years older, not so many FXs but those integrated are high-quality (and left beside Chrous and Delay all are analoge).

Tonluvara, let me suggest something: save up longer, and get what you really want. Nothing against any products mentioned, but for a while, I bought pedals and such as soon as I could afford them, looking for instant gratification. If you save up a little longer, you'll save money in the long run and be happier in the end. It can be hard not to let money burn a hole in your pocket, but it's well worth it.

I saved up for about half a year (or more) to get my Dual Rec, but I'm so happy that I did it, and didn't go for something cheaper.
