Which Wah?

Im thinking of geting the Cry Baby From Hell or the V Wah.
What do you recomend for metal. I want something thats easy to turn on or off andThat has a volume boost. Also taking value for money in mind.

I have a CFH. It's a sick pedal...very adjustable, without getting an expensive rackmount wah. It can definetly do metal, but its great for anything. Try it out for sure!

I have a V-Wah and am quite happy with it.

I't sgot a wide ranges of sounds and capabilities.
It's easier to turn on than any wah I've ever used.
It's got a big fat volume boost if you want it, plus lots of overdrives and distortions built in - a feature they don't play up much for some reason.

It costs a bit more than a crybaby, HOWEVER...

It's less likely to break because it "opens and closes' with an infrared beam, rather than a pot.
It's got a 5 year warranty
It's built like a truck.

Figure if a V-wah costs $139 and a dunlop costs you $69...but you have to buy a new Dunlop every year because it breaks, that' $345 vs $139.

Not a bad value.

I read a good review of this one in the latest Guitar Player mag (with Lindsey Buckingham on the cover).

It's considerably more expensive, but built like a tank, and has several different wah profiles and operation modes. (You can activate it by stepping on it like the Bad Horsie or Tremonti wahs from Morley, or you can step on a switch so you can set the pedal in a specific place and use it as a static filter.)

One suggestion if you are going to be using at bars... it is very beneficial to have one that has an LED for the On/Off switch.

i like the vox wah. i don't play clean sounds very often. maybe 1 in about 5 songs. sounds good distorted and clean.

V-wah has an on/off LED...thank goodness too. I didn't mention that the boost switch is in the heel and there's a separate LED for that too. It's got 3 'presets' for distortions/OD's too.

FWIW, I've had the standard crybaby, Vox, old Sepulveda crybaby, Bad Horsie...my favorite is the 535Q. I also had the Rack Cry Baby...really the best sounding of all, but it's expensive and bulky.

IMO i think you cant go wrong with a Cry Baby. I have one and its great. Nuff said :P
