For me it's
Jason Becker
. I really would like to know what amp,
distortion pedal
he uses on his demo tapes to Roth. Check out the songs from here.
Guitar sounds like a buzzsaw with endless sustain.

What ever setup Becker used, it added so many dynamics to the guitar. Kind of reminds me of Nuno on Pornograffitti. I know the player has a lot to do with the sound, but that distortion is over the top

OK, Alfie. Guthrie has some of the finest tone known to man, he uses Cornford and Suhr. Coupled with his technique... man, are you insane!!?
