Wiring diagrams!! - for pedals

I just got my first electric (boohoo, I know) and I was gonna buy a distortion pedal but those prices are ridiculous!! 70 bucks for what?

So instead of of wasting a crapload of money on something so simple, me and my dad (he's big on electronics) have decided to build our own. might be fun.

I'm looking for something to boost gain (if you have something else, that's cool too) and i'd really appreciate it if you guys could share some diagrams.

Thanks a lot

I used to build my own pedals, but it seems most of my bookmarks for schematics are out of date now..

Personally I'd just buy them. Trust me, you'll save very little money in the end, and the quality just won't be the same. If you're dead set on building your own, though, AMZ is a good source for schematics:

It's a LOT smaller than it used to be, though, it seems it's gone "semi-commercial." Check google.com and search for guitar effects schematics, there are lots of resources out there.
