Wiring EMG with push/pull pot - How would I do this?

If I want to wire a single EMG-81 into a push/pull volume pot could I make it so when the pot is pulled up, it can put a tone control in the circuit, which would be set all the way down and taped up in the cavity, and when I push it down it takes the tone pot out of the circuit and runs the p/u straight into the output? I know I need 25K pots to run EMGS but is there anything else I need and can anyone provide a diagram? It doesnt need to be flashy I understand things easily and have wired lots of things before. Besides, this should be reaaallly easy.

Thanks guys,

-madwell

Wiring EMG with push/pull pot

Should be able to do that no problem I think. Basically wire the "live" wire up to the input to the push pll, then have the live wire go from the up position tag to the tone control circuit, run it back to the return connection. then for the down position just short the send/return connections. Finaaly route the output from the push pull pot to your selector switch/output if you just want one pickup configured like this. If you want all pickups to have this config, then run the output from the selector switch into the push pull pot circuit described above. Just draw it on a piece of paper and it'll make perfect sense!

Wiring EMG with push/pull pot

If you're not planning on ever modulating the tone control, and simply want the darker tone on/off, then just wire a capacitor up to the output side of the push/pull pot's "on" position. There's no need to put more wire and a pot in the control cavity.
