Today was the big day - i have been saving up for 5 months for my first tube/rack setup.
For 2 months now my rack has been complete - Triaxis(evilbay), 2:90(evilbay) and
G major(new) , flight cased up , sitting below my bed like a dragons treasure...
I havent been able to play it though , as i have been saving for the cab for 2 months , so today was FINALLY cab day!
I went to the shop , to findout the cab was not there as claimed. Another few days i was told - disappointing but i can deal with it.
So i asked the shop dudes, who are totally cool , to wire up the rack and let me rock it through a cab instore, just to let me hear what its like. We spent a good 30mins wiring it up , plugged in... NO SOUND!
Eventually through a process of elimination , we figured the Gmajor was fine, the Triaxis was fine (which later started turning itself off every 10mins, then it took 2-3mins before it would turn on again)
The 2:90 was the problem, no sound. Tried the valves, nothing. Phoned mesa who suggested looking inside at the 12ax7s. When we took it apart there were 2 wires laying off the circuit board , in a way i thought PHEW - atleast it didnt seem serious.
So now its off to the engineers for repair, and the triaxis is being looked at for the self turning-off problem. Ive been told itll be back in 2-3 weeks ready to rock with the cab.
All in all a total bitch of a day! Fingers crossed it will come back with a cheap repair cost and ready to rock! Send me your karma guys!
