I recently bought the EQ, Delay and Compressor/Sustainer pedals...
The are actually pretty decent really...just those crappy plastic boxes...but I'm not stomping on them anyways; so they work out really well.
The Delay has a pretty cool 'hold' feature...
what happened, did Boss's patents run out or something? I dunno, Behringer reminds me of those parasite fish that attach themselves to the sides of sharks and other large marine animals.
I considered getting their EQ pedal at one time, but I read some reviews on it online and no one had a nice thing to say about it. There is no reliability to these pedals. You're just better off spending alittle more money and getting something you know is going to work.
DOD for instance....all the old pedals from the 80's, they might be old, but they're built like a tank and they still work. That's all I have is old DOD and Digitech pedals. You won't find a Behringer pedal lasting that long....EVER!
I might grab a reverb one.... yea they might not be all that reliable, but since I wont be stepping all over a reverb box the whole show, I shouldn't have to worry too much
Buying cheap pedals like Behringer's is actually a pretty good way to get the feel for a particular effect, if you're unfamiliar with it. You can play around with it for a while, then sell it back on an auction site.
I've got a compressor/sustainer pedal that I bought for a bit of additional sustain and it's a pretty good pedal, creates a little noise when you really have the sustain knob cranked, but it's not too terrible.
well, y'know, I am very tempted to buy a couple of their delay pedals to sit in the effects loop of my Tonebone Plexitube, have maybe three pedals set to different delay effects and switch between 'em - not too much foot stomping and a cheap way of getting several switchable delays.
Most pedals are in some way copied from something else in any case - I mean, I haven't seen anyone here blasting VoodooLabs for plagiarising the Tychobrae octave fuzz (VL Proctavia) or the Boss CE1 Chorus Ensemble (VL Chorus pedal is a clone!), or criticising the almost countless pedals which are a clone of the original Arbiter Fuzz Face. My Ibanez Silver Series Strat was basically a direct clone of a mid seventies Fender Strat, so, Behringer are just carrying on one of the great traditions of the music business.
And I'll almost be willing to bet that as time goes by, they will respond to crticism about noise, broken switches, flimsy casings, and the pedals will get better and better, and consequently more and more expensive, until, in five or so years time, some other bunch of jokers will come along with super cheap clones of Behringer pedals and we'll be doing this whole thread over again!!!!!
i absolutely agree - you guys are basically saying that jackson is copying fender by using 6 strings on their guitars.... everyone copies to some degree, but there are basic features that everything has.
or it really does but the plate is run with such low voltage that it wouldn't even matter if a tube was in it or not.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
