XXX opinions?

Thinking about putting the money in for a XXX.. It seems to have a better lead tone for shredding than a jsx, but it's clean is pretty terrible. I do play alot in the clean channel with a little reverb so that might be enough to make me say no. I also enjoy the 6505+, but the lead tone doesn't seem smooth enough (any suggestions about this amp would be nice). I'm a shredhead more than anything, but I play all styles of music (including modern jazz and classical guitar). If anybody had some experiences with these amps they could share or other amps that I might be interested in, I'd appreciate it. (Oh yeah, i'm using a jem, so I dunno if getting a metal amp is that great of an idea for that guitar)

I've always been very unimpressed with the XXX and the 5150/6505

I just got the 112 combo about 2 months ago and am planning on getting another one to run in stereo with effects. I actually think the cleans are pretty good. It is a very high gain amp (I have the crunch and ulra channels at gain-4). The crunch channel sounds very good and the ultra is a little bit more distorted but kind of similar. I have them with different eq settings but the ultra seems a lil bit more scooped. I think its an excellent amp for the money; i picked up mine for $549 at GC. At first I was iffy about it but with the right settings it sounds very good, to be honest the best tone i've ever played through. Oh, the efx loop is excellent.
