yamaha Dg-stomp vs Pod - Anyone tried the Dg?

Has anyone tried this one?
Some of You suggested me to try it...I searched for reviews on the net, but didn't find any 'bout this one.
For what I know, Pod has distorted tones w/few mids and a lot of highs and lows, maybe too "heavy-metal" for my purpouse - I'd like a tone "ala" Satriani or Van halen or Michael Lee Firkins or Petrucci.
The Johnson J-station seems "ok" just for recording.

I own it. *I love it. *I don't get Satch tones, but I never tried, either. - I do 80's metal stuff, bluesy half fuzz, clean, & marshally lead tones mostly.

It was my pick (thought it sounded more like a real amp), but I think the POD I played with was a version 1, and I don't do MASSIVE gain, which is one of POD's fortes. *I dunno how much better the version 2 is.

Dude, buy the Stomp. *It's awesome. *Just remember that you can't base your decision on the presets. *Make your own patches and remember to play with those speaker sims. *They make a big difference in your patch quality. *The sounds you can create on this thing are absolutely spot on to a real tube amp. *I even like it better than my Cyber Twin, especially when played in stereo (which is my normal setup). *The distortions are great, but the really high-gain tones tend to be a bit noisy. *It does have noise suppression, but it's not great.

One thing I love about the Stomp is that it sounds as good live as it does in your bedroom. *You can't say that about a lot of units. *

I've even been thinking about getting the new AG-Stomp to use with my EB-MM JP's piezos.... *Yamaha has done some very good work with the Stomp series.
