Re: yes cliplocks again....

Ok, this is a bit OT, but am I the only one who thinks plastic cliplocks are a bit useless? I mean, ok plastic is strong, but compared to metal? I'd know that I'd rather metal than plastic, esp. if I were to gig regularly.

Do they do metal cliplocks?

Re: yes cliplocks again....

I have plastic ones on 2 of my guitars. They have been on one of those guitars for 16 years. NEVER had a problem. It must be good plastic. I expected them to break long ago. But no, that's one of the reasons I just put them on my 97 guitar. You have to be carefull putting your guitar in it's case with them. It also makes for a tight fit in the new cases. I can just get the straplocks in my 2006 case.

They flop around a little when handling the guitar. I wouldn't want metal. I think there would be little dents all around them if they were.

That's my expieriance.

Re: yes cliplocks again....

I was a little worried about using plastic too, but after getting a set for my RG, I realized there really isn't anything to worry about. It's tough as hell, and will probably last longer than I will

Personally, I think its better than the metal (less weight, don't have to worry about tarnishing or bending).

Re: yes cliplocks again....

thanks for the input guys, it now seems like its a matter of taste. so if i ever did get my hands on a Jem 77BRMR id probably get the metal cliplocks. other than that the plastic ones would be more than ok
