yet another amp suggestion thread (please help)

ok, heres what i got...

i want distortion...lots of it. it needs to be metal type distortion, but not just any distortion though. i want distortion that rips your face off, shoves it up your ass, then lights you on fire. but i also need clear cleans with a bit of punch to 'em.

here are my choices...

Soldano SLO100...3,145.00
http://www.***************.com/produ...mps?sku=489125

peavey 6505+(5150)...974.99
http://www.***************.com/produ...mps?sku=481432

Peavey Triple XXX...999.99
http://www.***************.com/produ...mps?sku=481353

Crate BV300HB Blue Voodoo...1,749.99
http://www.***************.com/produ...mps?sku=487681

cost doesnt matter to me. i just want quality. thanks a bunch in advance.

p.s. im also open to cab suggestions for the amps...

edit: the links are to musicians friend(replace the asterisks with "m-u-s-i-c-i-a-n-s-f-r-i-e-n-d")

H&K Warp T, http://www.hughes-and-kettner.com/pr...ode=prod&id=37, or if cost really doesn't matter to you, Bogner Uberschall, http://www.bogneramplification.com/UberschallInfo.htm.

The SLO is very good, great even, but probably not what you are looking for.

Cost doesn't matter, so get the matching cab for either whichever you choose.

Where are you?

For the Bogner, www.fatsoundguitars.com in NC or www.wildwoodguitars.com in CO.

Not sure about the H&K, do some searching on the web. You might also check out www.rocksolidamps.com and look at Framus and Engl.

In my opinion, pedals don't sound as good as Tubes. Fender makes great amps; however, I am not a fan of their heads. Great cleans, but that's it. No balls so to speak. Find head with good cleans and distortion. Check out the Mesa Mark series. Great cleans and even greater distortion w/o an overdrive pedal. (I'm a broken record. )
Good luck.

Im just saying buy a fender tube amp for its clean not dist, then buy the pedals, its more metal than anything.

I'm aware of that, but pedals don't sound as good as natural distortion. That was my point.

Thats right nordy. Overdriven valves pack the biggest punch! Perhaps he should fully overdrive the amp then give it a wack of diode clipping from an OD pedal, such as the tube screamer, to give it that metal touch?

Re: yet another amp suggestion thread (please help)

SLO100s are great amps, but they don't have the kind of distortion that raises demons from the abyss either. I still wouldn't mine one of them

Might an ENGL Powerball do the trick nicely?

Re: yet another amp suggestion thread (please help)

I actually tried a DSL 100 today, and it has so much gain on it that I reccomend you try one out. Its got tons of distortion that rips through anything. Unlike the TSL, the DSL has a good seamless enough channel change. I hear the Mesas have quite a delay between channels, yet to try one though, anyone experienced this?

Nothing on my Nomad, and while I've never used the footswitch on a Dual or Triple, the Single was instantaneous.
