Re: Your Favorite Cable

Bulk Canare cable + Switchcraft or Neutrik plugs. Six bucks for the cable, another six or eight for the plugs.

Klotz Cables. Better than any cable I previously had and cheaper than Monster or Planet Waves.

+1 with microdmitry on making your own.

When I'm swamped with work and don't have time to order the cable and plugs, I use Horizon HBGS instrument cables. Mr. Vai used these in his rig for years and was a Horizon endorsee at one time. The spec's are similar to Canare or Mogami - it's center conductor is 20GA. and the braid has a 95% covering. They use Switchcraft or Neutrik plugs, covered with colored heatshrink. The 15' will set you back $13.99 at M.F.

Re: Your Favorite Cable

Who do you order Canare through, Micro?
Cheapest i've found so far is about $0.77/ Ft., unless I want to buy 656 feet at $0.66 / Ft.

I've had good luck with the heavier gauge (0.255) George L's cable and standard soldered Switchcraft 1.4" plugs.

Re: Your Favorite Cable

I use George L's for shorties and Planet Waves for long ones. Work perfect!

Re: Your Favorite Cable

Check out www.hopperpedals.com They build them to your specs with several options. They should be a little less than you were willing to spend as well. The service I got was pretty fast, and I'm happy with the cables I got.

I try to go wireless as often as possible...

When not possible, any braided cable will do.

Re: Your Favorite Cable

Besides Monster Rock? Anything.

I've been meaning to place an order through Blue Jeans Cable, simply because I was so impressed by their open letter to Monster. They don't have regular 1/4" guitar cables on their site yet, but they can be ordered as a custom and they're pretty reasonable.
