ZoomBar anyone? (telescoping whammy bar)

Just when I thought I've seen everything, they come up with this! Anyhow, I just found out about it.

(Check-out the cartoon flash video - )

I'd like your 2 cent on that guizmo.

Cheers,

that's pretty wacky, didn't watch the cartoon, but i did do the real video, pretty interesting...although i personally don't tap very much, and they won't work on a parker fly, and i guess i'd just use a whammy pedal (or in my case a whammy setting on my g-major)

and if you play your guitar up high, you could put an eye out with that thing

Does anyone think the audio track from the video is fake? It sure sounds to me like electronic pitch raising and lowering. The video is purposely shot in that "delayed frame" poor quality so you wouldn't question the timing misalignment of the licks. But I tell you, that is an audio track that was recorded without the use of a whammy bar and then pitch shifted, and the "karaoke" video was synced later.

My 2 cents: 2 cents. That's about what I'd pay for it.

Heh. I just watched the video now, Frank, and you're absolutely right. Those are artificial pitch shifts.

What the inventors likely failed to realize is that with a bar that long, you'd need to move it a LONG way to get divebombs like that. Wiggling it up and down an inch or two while tapping over the neck is only going to give you a tiny amount of pitch shift. Faking it in those videos seems like misrepresentation to me.

Jackasses.

It's not misrepresentation if each Zoombar comes standard with a whammy pedal.

The inventor formerly known as slang. right.

I dont know seemed to have some cool posibilitys for those of us who are bar tap crazy, but thats about it, pretty much useless it seems, although i would really love to try one, just to see what its all about and whether or not its worth the time to install on my guitars.
