FS: 1991 Ibanez Universe UV7PWH

Good morning everyone,

I have decided to sell my 1991 Ibanez Universe UV7PWH for two reasons: 1. I am losing interest in the seventh string and have been playing the sixes almost exclusively lately. 2. I just have not had enough time to play this one in the last couple of months. Important things to know: There is a small chip on the corner entering the jack input and one more near the tip of the lower horn. These are the only two blemishes on a very well preserved guitar. The guitar's color has not changed to the very off-white color that these PWH's sometimes do and the clear is smooth an intact. I have never played this outside of my home. The frets show almost no wear whatsoever and the action is very low (in fact that is what has been making me keep it around is how smoothly it plays).I will include the tremolo arm that came with the lo-pro edge tremolo as well.

The neck and middle pickups are stock, and from what I was told when I bought the guitar, the bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan (but I have never confirmed this). The original bridge pickup is included in the deal as well and has lots of lead left.

The body has a Schaller Trem-Stop base attached to it and the guitar will come with the piece that slides into it and a second, unused one altogether in the box. For those unfamiliar with this device:

I do not use the Trem-Stop aside from changing strings, which it makes super easy and fast, but I just don't find myself trying to playing songs requiring the fixed bridge on the Universe.

The case has one or two very small nicks and the pink lining is the brightest of the four original pink-lined cases that I have had so far. It really looks new and if not for the two small nicks on the outside this could pass as new. The lock and all latches and hinges still look and work as new.

Asking Price: $1500

Please let me know if you would like to see pictures of anything specific. And I will try to add pictures of those two case chips and two paint chips later on tonight when I get home.

So the question I'm assuming we are all wanting to know is.....Is that "trem stop" secured on the body with adhesive, or screws?? That could make all the difference....if you have some pics of it that would be a plus!

Re: FS: 1991 Ibanez Universe UV7PWH

Hello again,

Don't mean to bump this any earlier than allowed, but per the requests I have gotten for specific pictures I have uploaded more pictures of the guitar. They are as close as I could get with my camera without making them overly blurry. Now shown are: the trem (from a couple of angles), the back of the neck, the headstock and back of the headstock. I also tried to take a picture of the inside of the neck pocket where there is a very thin and about 3/4" paint crack. The trem stop base is shown as well, so you can see that it is applied using the adhesive strip that was provided in the box and not screws. I went around the whole outside of the guitar and took pictures (again, as close as possible, so they appear as large as possible and you can see what they look like up close and know exactly what you are getting) of any and all nicks and dinks on the guitar.

One more thing that I had completely forgotten about was that the TONE knob was converted to a push/pull knob by the previous owner. I haven't really played around with this at all, as I liked the way it sounded when pushed in. The pull seemed to make it sound a little more 'hollow', if that makes sense(?).

So check out the new pictures and let me know if you have any interest in the guitar.

One last question that was asked was whether I had any interest in a trade. At this point, I would really only trade+cash on the buyer's end for a Gibson Chet Atkins CEC, or if anyone wanted to do a straight trade for a Gibson J-185EC. These are the two guitars that I have had the most interest in lately, so they're all that I am looking for at this point. If this thread hangs around for a while I might expand the trade options a bit.

Cheers,

Tim

Re: FS: 1991 Ibanez Universe UV7PWH

A head's up to anyone interested...

The Schaller trem-stop base has now been removed (it was not screwed into the body) and there is no discoloration on the spot where it was, nor has any reside from the stick pad used to secure it remained on the body of the guitar.

Cheers,

Tim
