FS: Jem 7RB..an unusual one!

Hi there,

I am selling a players condition Root Beer Jem, 1989, Pink PAFs but unusually it has a pyramid neck rather than the dot inlays. It was bought like this new in 1990 and my enquiries have turned up a blank as to why it has a different neck.

Signed by Steve Vai on the front (lightly sealed) and on the back, on a aftershow pass stuck to the tremelo back plate...he was intruiged about it and asked about its history. Also signed by Mike Keneally on the headstock.

Will consider a trade in the UK for a good example Maton/Cole Clark acoustic...otherwise £850 ono. Will deliver to commited buyer/trader for petrol at cost.

Will consider sale to Europe/US is price is acceptable, although would prefer the UK...to be honest I would be nervous about sending it overseas, even with pre-payment.

I'm guessing it's a PBK neck. It'd help if you'd post pics here in the thread. I may have some serious interest in this one.

I would like to know the thickness of the neck, as that will tell you if it's a PBK neck or an original RB with pyramids.

Also, pics is good.

Were the model numbers not stamped on the necks back then?

I would think it would be a PBK neck too...just a little confused as to why it has one in the first place. Back in 89 they were still available with DOt inlays

The model number isn't stamped on the back of the headstock...not that I can remember anyway. I'll verify when I get home tonight..plus I will add some more pictures to Flickr.

dolphins, flickr is asking to be signed in before seeing the content. you might want to remove whatever restrictions you have for people viewing your albums.

As an FYI, an original RB neck is the Jem profile, the PBK is a Wizard profile. I don't think you'll see a Jem profile on that neck
