Hello fellow Jem Enthusiasts,
Well, after much debate I have decided to part with the top guitar in my collection… my
Ibanez Jem DNA number 236 and I wanted to offer her here first to the people who would appreciate her most.
Anyway, here’s the history on this
beautiful guitar. I bought her new in Rich’s Great Millenium Pick Off and I have been the sole owner. I picked her out from over 30 other DNA guitars because she has nice bold swirls with lots of little swirls within. Her primary swirl colors (Red, Green and Black) also closely match the colors of the pick-ups, which to me were more aesthetically pleasing compared to other DNA’s I have seen. To this day I still think she has one of the best swirls of any DNA just because of the boldness of the swirl and the vibrant colors, but hey that’s what’s really cool about Ibanez DNA’s and other swirl guitars… everyone likes something different… number 236 is what I like.
So why I am selling such an amazing guitar?… Well I have over 20 guitars (including a JPM P2 and the “Leather and Metal” and “Surprise” UCGR graphic model guitars) and my wife said some have to go so I thought I’d start at the top hoping that if I sell the “Jem” of my collection she’d let me keep the rest. As with the story of some other high end Jems that have sold here recently, our first child was born last year and we’re hoping to buy a house in the near future so this would certainly help with that down payment. I do really love this guitar, but family needs come first so I’m hoping to find someone who appreciates her beauty as much as I do. She is dead mint with very little playing time and all the case candy. This particular DNA also comes with the rarer flight case, which is a nice bonus (most DNA’s shipped to the US came in a modified UV1000 case).
As everyone here already knows Jem DNA prices have gone though the roof in the last few years and are expected to go even higher. As recently posted here on Jemsite one just sold in Europe for over $11,000 and another one was recently listed on *bay for $12,000. However, from all the current research I have done I do believe a more realistic fair current pricing is between $7,000 to $10,000. Because this DNA is dead mint and has one of the better swirls I’m asking $8,700.
I’d be happy to answer any questions and you can view detailed photos at….
