I'm the original owner and its been played. I'm not going to go into swirl description as opinions vary and I'll just let the pictures speak. I'm having trouble getting into my photobucket account, but as soon as I do I'll post the links to some pics. If anyone wants just a body shot to decide whether the swirl is to their liking, pm me. The details are:
1mm finish crack on front of upper horn.
2mm ding on face below trem.
5mm chip down to white primer on bottom right front
7mm
neck pocket crack in finish
3mm finish crack bottom back edge
7mm finish crack back bottom right edge
4mm chip back top right edge
1mm scratch to front bottom edge headstock
3mm scratch top right edge headstock near low B tuner
5mm chip off tip of headstock front
small scuff on tip of headstock back
some green paint missing from Universe logo
pimpling and wear to saddles
pimpling to trem overall
pimpling to tuning machine covers and tuning keys
minor corrosion to two lower polepiece covers on middle pkup
wear to neck plate
4mm hole in neck plate. I drilled this here when I had severe wrist problems and needed the guitar to sit at a different angle when standing. I know, they have replacement neck screws for this, but at the time I couldn't find one that was the right size (this was back in '94). Doesn't affect the guitar a bit.
Missing the
truss rod cover. I've got it somewhere (its lost with the truss rod cover for my PMC).
With all thats listed above, the guitar has been well cared for. It gigged many times during the mid '90s and I was always the guy at the club sitting with the gear while the rest of the band was at the bar. I like to keep my gear and I like to keep it in one piece. Its been mostly cased since around '99.The board has been oiled periodically and is in excellent shape. It's been setup with .10s for the better part of its life.
I'm asking $3000 firm plus shipping. The last MKR sold on Ibanez Rules went for $3500 and mine has a few more issues, so I knocked down the price. I won't go any lower, as there is still much sentimental attachment to this guitar and if it doesn't sell I won't be disappointed. I'd prefer a US deal since the last few international deals I've made have gone flawlessly with great buyers and I figure my luck won't hold out, but I'll make exceptions if the buyer is as good at verifying themselves as in my previous deals (and if I verify myself to them as well). Local would really be great.
I'd also be willing to trade for a DY RG550 20th plus $2000.
