WTB: Clear Pickguard for FP

I'm on the hunt for just a clear pick guard for my FP Jem. Most of the one's I seem to be able to find are either swirled or something off the wall, or 100.00$. If no one has one they would like to sell me, would they be able to point me in the right direction. Call me wrong or whatever, but a 100.00$ for shaped plastic seams a little steep to me.

Thanks much!

The only ones you can get from Ibanez anymore are the DNA pickguards and they are clear but (black light) I have one on my 91 FP. If I can recall it was about $ 65.00 or so straight from Ibanez. Yes, they are WAY overpriced. A vwh guard will run you damn near $ 90.00. If you really want one, you're probably gonna have to pay a lot more that you think (I was expecting $ 10 - $ 15. )

Arron, your's is an 88' (right?) The pups were guard mounted rather than body mounted. They changed up to the body mounted in 90'/91'. Not that I guess that matters as yours was modded with EMG's. Probably can't even find one of the pre body mount guards anymore. (unless you swipe it off someones FP ) Call Ibanez and see if they have any of the DNA guards left. I got mine a couple years ago so I am not sure of the availablity at this point. and it sounds like there are some other better deals out there than going to the big "I"!

Hmm. If that's my only option for getting the right one then that's what i'll have to do. What do you mean by clear but black light? In black light it glows but other than that it's clear?

Thanks,
Aaron

Oh it's not your only option unless you're set on getting it from the big "I"! It's easier to explain with pics so here goes

For the most part it appears clear as in this shot

But at certain angles in lighting it appears as below. And yes in black light it does glow (florescent) Some people love it, some people hate it I personally think it's cool

Sure it'll work. Your FP had already been modded with the EMG's. Maybe ask the seller if they still have the original pickguard?? You could go either way...whatever suits you

Have fun

Re: WTB: Clear Pickguard for FP

I bought the one from SCS yesterday. You said my 88' isn't direct mounted into the body. And his pick-ups from his guard aren't for direct mounted pickups. I got his pickguard and mounting screws for 40.00$. I figured I would give it a try and if it doesn't work i'll go to another one. That one from the DNA does looks really good on that FP! and you have an AWESOME collection! I hope to one day have a mint BFP since that's my all time fav. jem.

Re: WTB: Clear Pickguard for FP

That guard won't work on an 88'. You'd have to buy used 88'-89' or buy from one of the custom cutters.

Is there some reason why it won't work?
