Hello all, thanks for your time...Let me start by saying that I have wanted a Jem since I first played one many years ago, and it's just one of those things I have never seemed to make happen. Altho, I have owned many an Ibanez ('87 RG550DY, several Prestige's, etc...).
I bought this absolutely beautiful '93 Fender
Strat Ultra more as an investment than anything. But I have recently decided that I simply MUST have a Jem...lol. I could, and may still, just **** the Ultra... And then **** a lightly used Jem myself, I have seen them go for similar price ranges to what the Ultra will bring on there...$1200-$1500... (as per the last 6 months of watching both Jem's and Ultra's)
But, I decided that before I did that, I would see if there was someone out there with a used Jem that they would be interested in trading. The preminent Jem website seemed the logical place to start, a whole forum full of people that have what I want, as well as... Jem owners tend to be SERIOUS about thier guitar collections, and this strat is worthy of any collection.
What I have to
trade is a late '92 - early '93 Fender Stratocaster Ultra (serial says '93, but it has the 1 piece flamed maple top, and the Wilkinson nut like the '92's, I have not pulled the neck to get the actual build date). Basically it was the highest end strat made in it's day that didn't have a "Custom Shop" logo, Fender replaced the ultra's with the cheaper "Deluxe" models that did not have many of the features of these. Ebony fretboard, abalone inlays, flamed 1 piece maple top, full lace sensor array, factory tremsetter, locking tuners, etc...
I could type all day about this guitar but it's easier just to give a link that tells just about everything there is to know about these instruments:

This peticular instrument was taken to 2 seperate music stores recently (my favorate old school store that I have trusted and dealt with for 30 yrs, as well as the local Guitar Center.) both of which judged it to be a solid 9 out of 10 condition wise, and it drew crowds and quite a few ohhh's and ahhh's from store patrons/employees, as well as several compliments from that actual guitar techs themselves. It shows very little wear at all concidering it's age, frets are beautiful with very light wear, it is 100% original with the original case.

There is the only 1 ultra listed on **** right now, it's being sold modified, but with original parts as well, so it's a bit higher than the normal price they routinely sell for... he wants $1600 ...the rules say no links to auction sites or I would post links but a search of "stratocaster ultra" will find it. There are several Jems listed in the $1200 - $1500 range...
As far as what I am looking for, it doesn't have to be any certain model, or cosmetically great, or even be 100% original. I don't mind a bit of battle scars/wear but I would like it all to be in working order, and playable. Cracks in the neck pocket don't scare me nearly as bad as ones behind the nut. but I'm open to see what sort of offers I get.. nothing is really off the table, but I'm looking for the best I can get of course... please send an email with any questions or offers to:
