If you're a Yankee fan leave your gear in storage...

And start saying things like Jim Rice deserves to be in the Hall Of Fame!!! Even though we all know he doesn't...

Well, there's a city in Virginia called Gloucester, and I've learned to pronounce it "Glawster", so there's hope after all!

Yeah you can get to Worchester from Wakefield fairly easy by the highway. A friend of mine lives north of Wakefield and she goes to Worchester every now and then. I think from where you are it might take 45 min to an hour I believe.

Re: Boston area questions

Well, I am STILL seeing my Boston girl (been together a year last March) and planning to visit AGAIN June 8th - July1st.

I had a foot and a half of snow on my last visit, let's see how this one goes.

I am hoping to do some job hunting and a little musician networking while I'm there, this is why I plan to go for 3 weeks this time around, 8 days just wasn't enough time to put things in order to make a move.

It is tough to leave my "micro empire" I have built over the past 9yrs here in G'ville but I feel I should have MORE opportunities in a major city AND I will have my woman to wake up to everyday . Long distance relationships SUCK!!

Nice got your feet frozen haha. Aside from the snow you get to enjoy the season changes..

I'm sure once you get settled here up north you'll enjoy it. Now is prime time to enjoy the city with baseball being in season now. If your a sport junkie you'll love it up here.

Music scene here is diverse but it can be tough also. It all depends what you want to do.

For good metal shows the Worchester Palladium though now the House of Blues just opened up across the street from Fenway Park recently Mastodon & Lamb of God passed threw and a random mention Eddie Money did too...... LOL I went to that show damm I was so hammered and sloppy. I had a blast. Eddie looked wasted as usual. LOL...

Re: Boston area questions

I'm looking forward to nicer weather than my last trip.

For now I don't mind playing covers as long as I can play out at least a few times a month. Live performance is like therapy for me

I'll be there before sundown on Monday.

Lol tell me about it! I'm dating a turkish girl for 10 months now, the last time we've seen each other was on august last year! Thankfully, I'm going to Istanbul for the whole summer holidays. I was going through the same issue as you, as I'm only 20 I need every penny I make for my studies but..... I'm more than certain that she's the one and I just can't let her go. She's 17, but really mature and morally constant and grown up. I know it's a different age league but I think love is always the same when it is.

So rock on and love your future wife!

Btw sorry for contributing to tranformation of this thread into dating stories

That is an oxymoron. No girl at 17 is close to being mature. No offense, but I'm just telling it how it really is.

Well, you're right, but I can clearly see she is already really responsible for 17 years old, already decided her studies ( laws ) and is really serious about it. ANd besides all of her moral values and mature responsibility, she's ultra hot . But I wouldn't spend $1500 if I wouldn't be 99% sure ( there is always the 1 percent ) that we have a bright future.

^Been there, done that (about 8 times) and the only advice I have to you is that things can change, but ultimately you need to worry about yourself.

I understand that this scenario has surely happend many times to many people, but without giving it a chance, there would be no families at all, just stray kids running on the streets

Re: Boston area questions

The weather in Boston was what I would have expected from Seattle, lots of gray skies and rain, but not Boston. We had about 5 nice days in the whole month of June and did our best to enjoy those even though I felt kinda dumb getting a sunburn my first day out when I got there (fly to Boston from FL and get sunburned!! Der der der!!). Overall I enjoyed my visit, it was great to get to spend some real time with my woman. She will be flying into Gainesville for my Bday weekend this Fri, so I have that to look forward to.

I'm still trying to put pieces together for our situation (move or not move) so I can end this long distance BS, I'm mentally and emotionally exhausted trying to keep up with it.

There were concerts ALL the time while I was there, lots of big bands and cool shows. I got to see a few local acts but none of the bigger shows.

I'll keep info posted as I move thru it as to where this leads.
