"chromazone" by mike stern would be a cool one. "S.O.S" by Wes Montgomery. Just bring a Real Book and read.

I was thinking on including some jazz pieces but people will be also waiting for some commercial stuff from the 70's and 80's... difficult eh?

I know this is kinda unrelated, but holy ****. I don't know if you guys saw this, but for the Ibanez 90th Anniversy thing, Vai played with this sax player and they did this balladesque solo spot that almost made me cry. That combinaiton of instruments can be beautifully expressive if you pull it off right. I would try to do some blues jams if I were you.

Re: Guitar + Saxo.. any suggestions?

you could also consider taking any song and have the vocals played by the sax instead. there are a ton of choices, plus what was already suggested.

How about "History of Tango" by Piazzolla? It's for guitar and flute but I guess a saxophone won't have any trouble playing the notes

Blue Bossa or Seven Come Eleven. Like what was said earlier just take The Real Book and jam. There is so much stuff in there.

If you don't mind doing something simplistic while the Sax player takes the limelight, how about "money" by pink floyd? Otherwise, i'd second the blues jam.

Re: Guitar + Saxo.. any suggestions?

Thanks guys for your suggestions. We have decided to play some Blues / jazz and something from the 80's ("money" by Pink Floyd, Mike Stern, Dire Straits...).I'll ask a frind to record a few songs to share with you all.
Next one will be the 31st of March (my Birthday BTW) so I will have more time to practice a few songs I wanted to include but impossible to play on tomorrow's gig.
