Re: high school talent show

I played For the Love of God a few years ago when i was in year 11, a lot of people liked it! I even had an oldish man (must have been 70) walk up when i was packing up my pedals, i thought he was going to say something like 'Can't you play anything by the Beatles??' or something but intead he said 'Now i don't usually listen to that sort of music, but that was bloody great!' lmao So that was a nice suprise.

If you get the backing track for it and have a decent PA and pull it off then it'll have everyone's hair on end

You could do an electric adaption of spanish fly, and kick it off into something more original. Spanish fly translates well to the electric.

FTLOG!!! Seriously, when I get an RG with a good trem, it's going to be my main focus to nail that piece. Insert some tongue harmonics on G-string and the chicks will love you

I'm in Year 11 and I'm playing that very song at a school concert on Wednesday. Fingers crossed it'll go well, I'm more concerned about getting the emotions of that song across in my playing than anything else.

Eugene's Trick Bag. Worked for me last July!! Seriously though, people will really dig it, especially if you string the last section out a bit with some Becker-style sweeping. Just go for it!!

Re: high school talent show

How about taking a popular song and turn it into an instrumental? I'm doing Wonderful Tonight at my school's talent show. If you really want to grab their attention, play Baby, One More Time.

It went really well and completely suited the more deep/sorta jazzy feel of the night, so I'd highly recommend playing it!

Awesome mate glad it went well

There's nothing like the feeling of playing for people, especially something like FTLOG, did you just want to do it all again afterwards?

I always think you've played something well if when you've finished playing it you can't actually remember playing through it Mystical!!

Re: high school talent show

Are you going to be out there with a band or is this unaccompanied? If you are going to be alone, hit up the Star Bangled Banner or Greensleeves.
