Jemjam downunder!! Australia
I am going to be in Melbourne (and Sydney for a few days) between December 7th 2002 and Jan 7th 2003.
Anyone there want to get together and have a bit of a jam, a few stubbies and a BBQ?
Drop me a line at
simon@jemfest.com
Cheers
Simon

There must be someone who fancies a jam in Oz?
I will be in Sydney for a week from the 16th Dec or so, rest of the time in Melbourne.
Cheers

If anyone has travelled to Australia with their guitar please let me know. I just want to double check on the customs and immigration stuff.

Simon,
You will need to declare your guitar(s) on your customs declaration form as a timber product. Once you have collected your luggage, you will proceed through customs and they will guide you to a marshalling area where you will need to open the case(s) for inspection. Customs will take a look, I would then expect them to be suitably impressed and wave you through. You won't have to pay anything. It's a breeze.

Thanks!
I read the customs stuff on the web and that is also what seems to happen.

So how about a mini jemjam in Melbourne at the beginning of January?
(Just after the Fourth Cricket Test

Can anybody recommend some good guitar shops in Melbourne, Ballarat and Sydney?

Hello from Australia
Here are the first pics online of my new guitar taken as I played it on the steps of the Sydney Opera House last week Dec 18th.
Thanks to Brian for all his help in making this one!
Thanks also to Kevan, Chris C, and lots of other people for various parts!
It is a Jem77BMC (blue multicolour)
ATD swirl
Herc Fede three colour
pyramid inlay
Head stock says 'Ibanez Simon Wilkins'
Mahogany body made by Charles Elliot
Steve's special in the bridge
Air norton in the neck
HS2 in middle
Wizard neck,
rosewood fretboard
All other parts Dimarzio or Ibanez derived.
let me know what you think!
Best wishes
Simon in Australia
