JemJam in London March 2005

So I am flying into UK from Australia for a couple of weeks anyone up for a Jemfest style weekend on drunken debauchery? oh and some guitar stuff

11-13 March perhaps?

Friday-guitar shops and beers at the Intrepid Fox
Saturday-Jam at someone's house (or rehearsal studio?) with beer
out for more beer in the evening perhaps and Gossips
Sunday-chill out a few more ales and hang out

Who is up for it?

What do you think?

Cheers

Simon

Re: JemJam in London March 2005

I'd love to do it as well and it'll be much better to get a rehersal studio booked for Saturday but as always we'll probably fall flat without you here to organise things.

http://www.residentstudios.com/

What do people think about this one? It's not central but It's only about 30min from Oxford Circus on the Bakerloo line and their Studio 2 and Studio 3 rehearsal rooms look OK, also their rates are very reasonable at £10/hour.
We can book a 7 hour session on the 12th (say noon to 7:00PM), meet up around Denmark street at 10:00 - 10:30, have a butchers and then jump on the tube around 11:30 and go for a jam.
After that we can get the Bakerloo line back to town and go to the Interpid Fox for some beers.
See what the response is or if people know of better places give us a shout and we'll check them out.
I'm sure Ving will show up and I'll try to drag SalemB and Devo over.
Si (or Paul) try and point Pete, Mark, Clive, Rich, Darren and Jamie to this thread and see if they can come......

This might actually be the first thing I can come to. At the minute I am not 100% sure, but nearer the time I will know for defenite. Would be good to meet some of you guys from here finally! And yeah, some more news on Jemfest UK would be brilliant if its happening.

It was a 7 string last time wasn't it. So now it's a 7 string fretless ? Damn that'll be hard to play.

Any objections to having it at the Kennington studio we have used before?

It has amps and drum kits for hire if I cant persuade my old band mates to come along.

That is actually a great idea, we’ve all been there more than once and know where it is so it’ll be much easier for most people.
See if you can book it or let me know if you want me to book it and let’s try and see if we can get people to come over.
The last time we had a jam was last January so it’ll be great to see you guys again.

Also, as I live in Reading, Friday night beers in London doesn’t really look viable for me so I’ll be most definitely going to Denmark Street around 10:00AM before the jam.
Just mentioning it in case someone wants’s to join me.

Ving, what are you doing up at 4:00AM on a school night?

Re: JemJam in London March 2005

ok lets keep Friday an option and go for Saturday and Sat night

As I recall the studio in Kennington does 2pm-6 pm which is what we did before.

I think a morning of Denmark Street followed by a few hours of jam might be good, then a few ales of ales

Incidentally my friend who I was going to crash with has to go on a business trip on some of the days I was going to be in London-does anyone have a space for me to crash?
