Joe Satriani & Eric Johnson Concert April 12th 2006

I was at the Satriani concert on Wednesday. It Rocked...... The new material from super colossal was hot!

Just a sweet rockin high energy concert. They are even doing a guitar give away for $12 tickets. Mind you that JS 100 at $12.00 a ticket has made about $40,000, so it's one expensive JS 100.

Flo.... I wish I would of chatted you sooner, I had the very last nose bleeds seats for the same price......... Man O Man' It was awesome though!

Cool squeeg!! I saw the tour opener. It was kick arse totally. I posted a review. The last couple times I felt "let down" at the Satch concerts, but this one was different. He's got his old "ENERGY" level back!

Yep, the best Satriani set I've seen yet. Every other time has been either a G3 set or as a supporting act, so to see him improvise a bit, i.e. the Twilight Zone "riff" and the jam ending on "Always With Me" was very cool. Getting to meet him and Dave Larue after the show was the icing on the cake.

I didn't hear any issues with his sound, although there was a puff of smoke and a scramble to replace Dave's cord ealy on. It sounded great. If it was lacking anywhere, I'd have to say it was his clean tones.

Eric Johnson was good. He had more stage presence than I really expected from what I've heard. His sound while it was good, had some issues. His dirty tones had a hum the likes of which I've never experienced in a professional show, and the different amps weren't quite the same volume. His clean tone, though, is killer IMO, and I really like his technique.

But, if you make dinner reservations you get in 10 minutes before the doors open. I did. I'm going to pay for the VIP seating once I get there. Yeeehaaa.

Yah man that was a great show!!!!

Thanks for the compliments on the pics. I literally had the last 2 farthest
from the stage seats in the entire place. I snuck in a Minolta Dimage 7 in the
wifes hand bag. I didn't get busted until the last song but it was worth it.
Massey Halls acoustics were sweet, if you look at one of the pics posted you
can see the cave like ceiling that traps and reflects the sounds.

It was last year on April 2nd I saw Vai there and he was telling everybody
how much he liked Massey Hall and that when he was playing for Zappa
17 years ago, he had played at Massey Hall and still dug the venue.
That was cool to hear.

Anyways I'm glad you guys had a great time. This is my seventh Satch concert and I know for me he did get that feel back. The new stuff literally had my hair stand on end and gave me
goose bumps. It brought me back to 1988 and it was like I just heard Surfing with the Alien for the first time.

Eric Johnson rocked too! His elusive intro before doing cliffs of dover
was stellar!

except I was row 4 at the Vai concert and this time I was on the first balcony the right a bit. the seats were still great though.

I went to the Boston show last night and it was awesome! The Berklee Performance center is a very nice place and it's happening around that area in Boston.

Eric Johnson was great but I didn't care for his setlist this time around. He did much better songs the first time I saw him last year. At least he did Cliffs Of Dover with the long intro though, that made my night.

Joe Satriani did one hell of a performance and he did a fantastic setlist. Every song you'd want to hear, he played, he blew my mind!

Both of my favorite guitarists in one show at very nice venue, it was great time.
