and my Experience meeting him today
So today I went to LA Music down here in Port Credit (Mississauga, ON)
and finally got to meet Mr. Vai.
(It only took 15 years)
The guy Rocks, totally cool down to earth nice guy.
The 3 hour wait was worth the 5 minutes of hanging out with him
and just shooting the shyt.
Mostly dudes there with guitars were non Ibanez’ and a few RG’s.
3 Jem 7VWH (Evo’s) and that was it.
When we made our way up to him I then got him to sign my floral guitar,
no biggie he didn’t even seem to care about that particular puppy but when I pulled
out my Root beer out of the case he took it in his hands and looked her up and down.
He then asked me “Where did you get this?” I simply told him that I am a fan
and it took me several years to snag this. He then said “ I thought I was the only one
with a Root beer identical to this with a pre 87 serial number.” “It should never of been released.” He was in total surprise and then said “let me sign her twice.”
Then he had a pic taken with her and said to me near the end “Make sure you take care of her!”
Then the big Ibanez rep who puts on these shindigs pulled me aside when I was getting ready to leave with my step son and he asked me where and how did I obtain that Jem. I told him that I snagged it from an original owner who lives in Thunder Bay. As soon as I
was about to tell him the name of the music store
in Thunder Bay he beat me to it and remembered delivering it there and that they screwed up.
Man what an experience… Enjoy the pics my brothers.
If you ever have the chance to meet Mr. Vai I highly recommend it .
What a great guy.
