Re: My band's debut album

Whoa dude! If you can't take criticism don't post asking for feedback! Nobody on here sought you out & targeted you to rip on you. We responded to YOUR request for feedback.

If you want to grow as a musician you have to be able to take even harsh criticism & keep putting yourself out there man. I hope you can chill & see there is some genuine constructive criticism on here that can help you (and me and any other musician) grow. Take advantage of the community. If you really don't agree with someone's assessment of what you're doing you dont have to take it to heart. Everyone has different tastes and may just not be into your "sound"...

No reason to get pissed about it though man.

and by the way nwobhm is NEW WAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL a 80's heavy metal style that originated many other also metal styles later on... bands like tank, virtue, angel witch, hell, girls school, saxon, etc... inspired your beloved metallica's/megadeths bands....
Please before speaking a lot of S**t about recoding tables (yeah a ****ing professional mixing table) you should hear to those bands and learn from them..
Sorry i did not mean to offend anyone...

-peace...
Dude or Dudette (as the website seems to say him or her in some places)

Peace to you too. Personally I think you DO need to ask someone for help with recording. The areas that need work:
sing in tune
play in time (live vid)
mix well (levels at the very very least least)
record instruments clearly with the right mics in the right places, properly eq'ed, etc. No one really will accept anything that sounds like it was recorded on low-tech when everyone knows there's high-tech available, EVEN IF you say NWOBHM is your inspiration.

The lyrics might not be too important if you don't want to change those, but at least make them understandable from a listener's perspective.

Many of the guys here have really good recording experience, home studios, personal albums, etc. You could learn a lot here.

I hope your album sells well

We were trying to help you before you released that. Needs a ton of work.
As a musician, your work is your business card. And yours, my friend has ink running all over it...

Re: My band's debut album

@SP: If you return.........

If you dig through the few years worth of posts here you will find countless examples of members criticizing another persons work (on request). If you follow some of those being criticized through the years of posts, you'll see how much they progress and how much they learn........this could be you as well, if you keep an open mind and stay humble.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your style of music but you DO have very serious production issues. Apart from that, your band IS NOT playing together as a single unit. I know you know that already. Don't fool yourself into believing that "it's ok, this is our sound" Your only doing yourself, your band-mates, and your credibility a sever disservice.

Strive to be the best you can....personally AND as a band. When you get there......do it again!!!!

Looking forward to hearing/seeing your progress through the times ahead.

This reminds me of like when your girlfriend or wife comes to you and asks "do these jeans make me look fat?" and you reply "they might be a little small" and then you get snubbed for the rest of the day. That leads me to believe that the OP is a woman.
