Yeah I don't mean to be negative but I think this still needs quite a bit of work before its "released"...
Keep at it!

I've got to agree with Jimmy.
It may be her "style," but as Randy Jackson always says--"It's pitchy and all over the place."
It's not just the singing, either. While the rest of the mix is acceptable, the vocal track sounds like it was recorded on a $10.00 Radio Shack microphone. The vocal track's level is also way too high and drowns out the instruments--not a great thing when the vocals are the least best part of the track.
Sorry, but if you plan on releasing that, and post online for comments--we're going to be honest.
I'd rather you get the truth in hopes that you have time to do it right.

Re: My band's debut album
I REALLY tried to find something good in that song but i couldn't.
I hated all instruments tones.
Vocals are terrible, out of tune and cheesy, I can't believe somebody sing that way and thinks it's good.
Rhythm guitars tones are weak and muddy.
Drums are buried in the mix.
Obviously there's NO good recording engineer piloting that project, well there's not even somebody with good ears to mix it.
Again.....I really tried HARD to find something good but from the first bar till the end, my ears suffered in pain so I can't help even with mixing.
Not trying to be rude at all but it's hard to believe somebody think that song is good in any level.
Sorry for my honest.

Re: My band's debut album
It is rare that I agree with 6fingers, but in this case I do. I applaud the attempt at the album but it is not to my liking. It sounds like the singer is having trouble hearing herself and the instruments would benefit from a metronome.
Good luck.

It's not the style of music that's the problem--it's the mix and bad vocals. If you do "nu metalish" next, you'll still have the same problems. Just clean up what you have--record it right, mix it right and make sure to use an experienced engineer.

Re: My band's debut album
Did I hear "
Heavy
Metal
Power" at 1:24? Seriously?
I did listen to it more than once (thanks to Treva), and kept playing 1:24 over and over for a minute.
It is simply not good as a recording. It has potential to be unoriginal NWOHM (which I thought was the band name to be honest) but they need to hire back the original singer, invest in real microphones, learn to use "all those cute little knobs" on that recording console if they insist on doing it themselves.
On the good side (gigglesnort), it has "energy" and according to the site, at least two fans.
Edit: Now listening to Racer X

Re: My band's debut album
To be fair, it takes guts to post anything recorded on these boards so kudos to the OP for that.
