Talent show, how to spice the show up

Hey guys (and girls )

I'm about to leave on a camp, and at that camp, there's a talent show. My friend and I have decided to play Mission Impossible for the show. It's an easy song, very recognizible, sounds awesome.

I don't want our performance to be like other bands, plain and boring. sitting there playing. i want it to be energetic, exciting fun. that's the only way we'll win (money involved).

One of the things i want to do to spice the show up, is to do the flingy thign with my guitar. I've never done it before, but i'll learn last minute, and it looks AWESOME live.

Do u guys have ANY other suggestions? Of course we'll walk around the stage, take turns walking to the front of the stage head banging at the crowd. but i want something unique.

I have NO IDEAS, so PLEASE tell me anything, i'm open!

thanks
yoyo

ps - does anyone have any tips in doing the flingy thingy?

Play an old beat up guitar and at the end take it off and bash it on the stage until it breaks apart. Then light it on fire. Throw the remains, while still on fire, into the audience. Take the high E string and strangle the closest person to you. Then run like hell!

How's that?

Dont try the flingythingy unless yer 100% sure you wont hit/main/kill anything around you.
And have straplocks.
But if your wanting to do something interesting, have the drummer take a solo mid song, go for a piss, come back and go back into the song.
Not as awesome as the flingy thingy, but its still memorable...

haha, that would be funny, but it would be ummmm, to wild for the audience...

i was thking about doing the megadeth stripping thing, but i figured since it is a christian camp i better not jk, i never even thought about doing it.

i don't thk i'll do that... lol, and i don't have strap locks, but my friend used to do it on a squier that didn't have locks either, i thk for one time i'll be fine....

plus, my strap is reasonably new, so it's as hard as anything to put the strap over the buttons, i don't thk the strap is gonna come off

do the Yngwie thing and put your guitar on the ground and rip off all the strings, crazy feedback helps add spice to it...

Re: Talent show, how to spice the show up

What if everybody in the band got to do a short solo to showcase their skills?? It seems like anything other than guitar solos went out in the 70's. Everything old becomes new again at some point so why not? Just my humble 2 cents.
