Ableton Live
Does anyone here use this program? I just bought it and am just starting to watch the tutorials. I decided on Ableton based on a friend's experience with it who uses it for electronic music production.
Rather than a straight linear recording, it's set up more to use looped samples, which is what I was more interested in. My goal with it is mostly to create backing tracks that I can ultimately play over.
I've watched my friend use it and it's pretty amazing. Once you create the basic drum beat, you literally just drop other samples into the mix and it snaps them right to the beat. It also does time stretching extremely well, so if your sample doesn't totally match up to the beat, it corrects it.
