Active Monitor Connection

Hi all,

I recently acquired a Boss BR-1200CD Digital recorder and I have a set of M-Audio BX5a active monitors that I'd like to connect to it. Since I'm a total friggin' noob when it comes to recording, I'm not sure what the best way is to do this.

The Boss unit has RCA outputs only and the monitors have both a balanced XLR input AND a balanced/unbalanced TRS input. Obviously, I need some kind of adapter but I'm not sure which one and where I can get it.

Can anyone offer any advice/suggestions?

Also, if anyone is familiar with the Boss BR-1200CD, how can I bypass the internal amp modeling and effects section and connect my POD X3 Live? The Boss' modeling/effects aren't bad but I prefer the X3...Again, I'd appreciate any advice!!

Butch,

The way I would hook up the M-Audios to the Boss would be via the line out and I would use 1/4" Plug to RCA cables, like the ones below for example:

Unfortunately, these all-in-one units don't allow the user to have options when it comes to hooking up devices to them because they're an all or nothing kind of device.
