adding an mp3 backing track to cubase - MAC

i need to start doing some recordings at home with backing tracks for a project but i don't actually know how to do this on a mac. i know on a p.c you can just drag the mp3 from windows media player or something into cubase and it is instantly added but on my mac it won't let me drag from i-tunes into cubase.
