All kinds of questions Mixed into one post :D

Hey Dudes\Dudettes
I am new to this forum , Although i registred a while ago , ive never been in here almost . And im gonna conecntrate on the Recording Forum , cause that is what my interest is

Now , im starting building up a home studio now . And i dont have a amazingly huge budget . I use Logic 5 , and i have a M-Audio Delta-66 card , wich i love very much . I dont need more that 4 in .

And now , im going to invest in a Mic Preamp . Cause i dont have a mixer , frankly i dont need one i feel :P I just need a 2 channel preamp with xlr and jack in .
And , i found out about you guys , and was told you have an amazing load of knowledge . So i come with a few alternatives ive been thinking about . I need a preamp that has a nice warm sound , and gives a quality that does not stink

here are the ones i thought of :
Presonus BlueTube
M Audio DMP3
Behringer Tube Ultragain T1953

So , whats your thoughts on this ?

I hope you can answer , and appreciate all answers
Thanks ,
Nilsefix

I've been using ART tube preamps for a while in my studio with good success.

For my band's first recording project, we used ART Tube Channels (tube-based preamp, compressor/limiter, and EQ in a single rack space) for recording guitars and vocals. We were really happy with the results. You can read more about the gear we used here:

and check out some of the demo clips here:

I just bought a couple ART TPS preamps to use for drums, bass, and keys on our next recording project. I don't have any significant experience with them yet... I do like them since they're stereo (compared to the Tube Channels which run mono), so they take up less rack space if nothing else.

I think the Tube Channels (mono with compression & EQ) were around $250 each, but the TPS units (stereo with no extra frills) were around $170 each. You should certainly have no problem finding a decent tube preamp in that price range.

I use a Focusrite Trakmaster preamp for mics and it sounds great. It's a preamp/compressor/eq unit in a 1u rack box. I think it's quite reasonably priced too
