Re: Amp Modelling Software

I'm pretty sure he only uses real amps.

I would look into some amp modelling hardware like the Line 6 POD or Behringer V-Amp.

Re: Amp Modelling Software

I use Native Instruments' Guitar Rig 2. It's a GREAT app, with accurate amp and effects simulations. Only problem is that it's WAAAY too noisy, but that's probably because of my sound card (i dont have the foot "kontroller")

Re: Amp Modelling Software

hi,
a decent sound card with XLR input and a D.I. box will do the job.

This is a old topic but i came about it, and would just like to add, before someone goes out and buys Guitar Rig 2... i have a pro level Lynx souncard, and a focusrite pre, all going in the pc with -90 db noise floor with the guitar volume knob down.... and guitar rig is still noisy... damn just by inserting the effect in the sound chain, with the input MUTTED i get +10dB of noise immediatly.. for professional use, i'm sorry, but it's utter crap... it's just a very expensive toy...

Sorry steve_arm, good hardware just won't do it in this case...

Re: Amp Modelling Software

Is it any more noisy than, say, a real amp at similar settings?

Also, are you using a CRT or LCD display?

Re: Amp Modelling Software

As Drew says, a CRT will cause noise, an issue I've had but never had the problem with TFT. I didn't know LCD could cause noise though.

Nop, i got rid of it long ago... it's a real studio setup even if i had one i wouldn't use it near my guitar of course

And yes, it's more noisy than an amp at the same settings...it makes this noise also with clean settings by the way...

Hey is that the A Team theme? ROFL... what a great show! Yeah, I've got a POD XT and I'm pretty happy it. If it broke I'd buy it again.
