Analog Tube plugins for Logic pro, or hardware tube preamp?

I'm looking for a high quality plugin to use in Logic pro that will warm up my digital tracks, and make them sound more analog. The only ones i could find in search was Antares Tube, and Blue Tubes analog track box by nomad factory.

I am running Logic pro on a powermac G5, so it needs to be compatible with Audio units (AU's) for Logic pro.

Reviews for the Antares Tube weren't so great, and i couldnt find any reviews on the Blue tubes.

Anyone using these or something else??

I want to use this plugin mostly for guitar, bass, and vocals as i am using Gearbox gold bundle plugins for my guitar, bass, and vocal tracks.

Or is it better to just get a hardware tube mic preamp that doesnt cost so much??

I'd like a plugin though, as i want to keep my desktop studio down to a minimum as far as hardware.

Hello Silver,

I'm a bit late but anyhow :P

Which version of Logic are you running? I upgraded to the latest version this week (Logic Studio). Just upgrading may actually solve your problem...

They have added lots of effect plugins among others a bass and a guitar amp simulator. I haven't plugged a guitar and played with it yet but I ran old stuff I had through it and it didn't sound too bad. If your goal is just to warm up the sound it might be sufficient and in any case you get get it for free if you upgrade

Re: Analog Tube plugins for Logic pro, or hardware tube preamp?

I'm running Logic pro 7.2
I came across Blue Tubes analog trackbox by Nomad Factory, it's got a nice tube emulator along with a gate, eq, compressor, limiter.
I've also started using a tube mic preamp (Art tube MP studio V3) and then running my tracks with the Blue tubes plugin........
I got excellent results using this combo..........especially my guitar tracks.
This is great if you are using digital modelling like Gearbox, it really warms up the tone, and gives a nice tube tone to your guitar tracks. Ever since i tried the demo, i wouldnt mix my tracks without it.
The guitar amp pro in logic doesnt compare to Gearbox, so i dont use that plugin.

But the blue tubes plugin is great for warming up and giving that tube warmth that is much needed to digital guitar modelling tracks. It's even better when you use a tube mic preamp.

Cool Stuff Silver! Thanks for letting me know

I'm not in the market to buy plugin at the moment, but I'll definitively check Blues Tube as it sound very cool!.

Did you tried using it on voice? My mic and and preamp quite sterile sounding... (no tube in either!)
