I've got
Cubase 5 Essential up and running and I want to use some of the
VST plug-ins to mess around with a few recordings. I click on the inserts and a very small list pops up of a few plug-ins but no where near the ones advertised as coming with my level of Cubase 5. In fact, they all appear to be the same plugins that I used with Cubase LE. There was also a list of "missing plugins" that has since vanished but the plug-ins that were on that list are still not displayed.
I then opened the plug-in information window in Cubase and see over 30 plug-ins. Many of these are showing in my insert options but not all. I've looked in the Steinberg program files and there seem to be several VST files that aren't showing up in the plug-in list. Cubase isn't recognizing them I guess but I'm pretty sure they're in the correct file location. I've consulted the manual and tried to sift through the search feature on this site as well as general internet searches for people who may have had similar problems of seeing the files in their Cubase folder (C:etc. ) but not being able to see them in the actual program. It seems like it recognizes the .dll file types but nothing for the .vstpreset files. Am I not understanding something here?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm running it on XP SP3 if that makes any difference.
