Re: apogee one

I use Apogee converters and they're awesome!
I haven't tried "one" but most of the Apogee stuff is great...

Re: apogee one

i have one but there is not much to share. its fairly simple in set up and functionality and works great. No issues. I wish it would also work on my PC's but it doesn't.

Re: apogee one

I have an Apogee One that I use with my MBP and a Duet I use in my basement studio setup. Both are built the same and easy to use as the encoder knob switches between volume, and inputs. The One has a built in condenser mic but, you can't AFAIK, use say a another mic and the builit in mic at the same time. I use mine with Logic Pro using the built amp designer software in Logic to record directly into the machine to lay down ideas at the coffee table. From the vids on their website, it looks like you can do the same with GB too.
I don't know if that helps, but anyway I love mine. Doesn't take up a whole lot of room either.

Re: apogee one

Minsc,

Would you say the sound quality on both these units is about the same? And what about latency - I know the ONE is USB 2.0.

I have a Duet and love it, but only need what the ONE offers and find the included internal mic to be a huge bonus. I was looking to save a couple hundred bucks, too. Let me know when you can about the sound and latency, thank you.

Re: apogee one

Wow, I forgot about this thread. Sorry.
As far as the sound quality goes I honestly don't know. I've only used the One with the laptop and haven't experimented (yet) with it with the desktop. I was just going to buy another duet but since the One is $150 cheaper and has the built in mic I thought it would be a better fit plus the bonus of a condenser mic. As far as latency goes, I haven't noticed any at all. I think that is more dependent upon the settings used in the DAW. I hope that answers your question.
