Audio Recording Problem (no sound)

(Using Imac G5, Cubase SL3, Halion 3, Line 6 Toneport UX2) I've just come to finish all my midi tracks for my first project song and now want to record audio tracks, but there is no sound when i playback and i've checked the inputs and outputs, i'm playing through the Line 6 Toneport but don't have a clue what to do. I've read the manuals and followed everything .. called Steinberg today and the man said i need to buy a 'soundcard' as it want play witht the internal audio system built in my mac, can anyone help? what's a good soundcard and how much? how do you fit them in? .. pfft

Make sure you have Line In selected (im assuming you have it plugged into the line in port) by double clicking the little speaker in the bottom right, options, properties, recording, ok, then select line in.

Sorry i don't understand, what is the line in? where is the line in port? I've been told so many things i'm really confused, does this mean steinberg are wrong by saying i need a new soundcard?
