Bad sound from Cube 30 line-out

I have a problem with my Cube 30 amp.
The line-out sounds very bad. It sounds quite lifeless. When I plug my headphone in it sounds like crap. The line-out only sounds good when I record with my DAT-recorder and play it through my 3-way speakers or when I play directly from my line-out trough my speakers. But when I plug my headphone in my DAT-recorder it's the same problem. It's not the headphone (tried multiples) but I think the problem is that there is no speaker simulation in the line-out. The Cube only sounds good when played trough some good speakers.

Are there any plugins for Cubase or something else that give me speaker simulation (if this is my problem)?

I have yet to experience amp's line out, direct out, etc. that sounds good enough to use for recording and/or gigging. And believe me, I've been trying.

I'm not aware of any speaker simulation plug-ins... most speaker simulators I'm aware of are rack units. Palmer boxes seem to get really good reviews. I know people, though, who have gotten good results out of cheaper units like the ADA Microcab.

I just found the best way to discribe how my amp sounds from the line-out. Sounds like the guitar from the band "Interpol" on their "Turn on the Bright Lights" album. Quite bad

THe Cube 30 shouldn't be listened to through your headphones....
On harmony-central there are more people mentioning crappy sounds when done so....

I like the Cube 30 best when on clean setting. Not really impressed with modelling function. Nice little practise Amp though.....

Although saving up for JSX Cabinet.

Have you gotten a chance to try a TSL's emulated out? That one surprised me - mute the speaker and wind the thing up a bit, and while it's not perfect, it's totally useable, to my ears anyway.
