Bedroom Recording

Hey,

Where abouts would be best in my bedroom (its not very big) for my amp to go because i wanted to start doing some recording is there any sites with info on them about where to put stuff?

at the moment i have got my amp (Marshall DSL 50 and 4x12 Vintage 30's) facing the outside wall (window)

Thanks For Your Help!

Re: Bedroom Recording

How do you record? using a mic or Line out?

If your using line out then of course it doesnt matter where you put it since of course its all done before output

If your micing, it is a matter of personal taste. Currently when im recording differerent bands, i usually have the amps facing a flat wall about 3 to 4 feet away, and with the mic a couple of inches from the speaker (not the middle but the edge of the cone). But some people might like there amp in a bathroom for the "reverb"

Just move it about and see what YOU like best afterall its YOUR recording

Re: Bedroom Recording

i use a pod, but then again i use line6 amps. but the pod tones go straight in via DI, into software so i don't worry about mic'ing. i get great results, but if you have an amp, i would look into getting a really good DI for recording. mic'ing is nice, when you can do it, but for everyday bedroom recording, line out into a cab emulated DI is the way to go...especially for demos. for me, though, the flexibilty of my line6 stuff is unparalleled. saves space, too.
