Behringer FBQ 1502 + POD XT PRO

Hi guys i just bought a FBQ 1502 equalizer today to add to the rack and ive been having some issues connecting the eq to the pod. I run the input of the eq to the pods FX send and the output of the eq to the FX return, the equalizer manages to pick up the signal of my guitar but im not hearing the equalizer process the sound
