Behringer X V-Amp VS V-Amp 2

I never used the V-Amp 2 but a guy told me my X sounded better than the 2 he had. Anyone ever compare the two?

Re: Behringer X V-Amp VS V-Amp 2

Unless it's the same guitar & speaker compared at the same time, judgements like this are often suspect (no slam on your pal - auditory memory is just flawed). Generally the V-Amp2 is considered "better", but I think the sound engine is the same - you just get less flexibility with the X.

So you may well get as good a sound with the X - depending on what you're going for. But this is the first time I ever heard it called better.

I've owned both. The sound prety much the same. The V-amp2 has more features.

The X-V amp os so cheap and works so well that I wouldn't worry about comparing it to anything else.

Yeah, I have an X-vamp hooked up to the pc at all times for pracitce. All the sounds you could ever want and it's super cheap.

Has anyone compared the Vamp2 to the Vamp pro? What does the Vamp pro do that the Vamp2 can't?

Re: Behringer X V-Amp VS V-Amp 2

The pro just has different output options. Otherwise, it's exactly the same as the V-Amp2.

For what it's worth, the X Vamp is just a scaled down V-Amp. If it sounds worse, it's mostly because of the patch in question. They sound nearly identical but, as the X V-Amp is a little harder to edit, it takes a little more work to get good sounds out of it. I've owned the Bass V-Amp, two V-AMP 2's and still own the X-VAMP and V-AMP Pro. All are great little units.
