Cheap Behringer mixer

Hey everyone. I want a low-budget mixer with mic-inputs. I was looking at the Behringer stuff. The UB 1002 has phantom power. Does that mean I cannot put a normal dynamic mic in there?

Re: Cheap Behringer mixer

Just because it has phantom power, it doesn't mean that you have to use it. On our mixer(we have the 16 channel one- I forget the model number), there's a switch on the back, next to the power switch, to turn it on or off. It's just there if you need to use a condenser.

I've heard alot of people say bad things about Behringer's quality, but we've had ours for quite a while now, and we haven't had any problems with it. The built in effects aren't great, but they're servicable.

Hope this helps!

just think of it like this, it's phantom power...mics that need it, make use of it, but other mics can't see it, cause it's phantom!

Thanks! I'll take the one with phantom then. Someday I'll probably buy a phantom mic anyway.

Can I suggest one of these? http://www.directproaudio.com/produc...directid=53423
Warranty on the Behringer stuff can be a hassle I hear.

I believe these are the same as Yorkville stuff.

I've got the 802, no problems with it at all. I like Behringer gear. Cheap, but rugged.
