Cheap monitors: M-audio or Fostex???
I need a set of cheap monitors.
I'm looking at the M-Audio Studiophile LX4 set. The drivers are 4" & tweeter is 1"mylar. It comes with an 8" sub and the set is $279. 60w to sub and 27w to the monitors.
The other set I'm lookin at is from Fostex. It's two pm0.4 monitors with a pm0.5 sub. The set is $249. 4" drivers, 5/8" tweeters, 8" sub. "18w power to highs, 18w power to lows" does that mean 36w then or just 18w. The sub is 110w.
I'm leaning towards the fostex set because the sub is actually supposed to be really good and I could upgrade to fostex' newer bigger driver monitors when I have some money. So which set will sound better for mostly rock songs? What do yall think? thanks
