Connecting Audio Interface

I've just received my Line 6 Toneport after borrowing one from my freind, I have connected the USB lead to the back of my G5 and hooked it up to the TP, then i have my guitar plugged into the Input .. but where should i plug in to get any sound? I haven't got any suitable heaphones at the moment and i've tested the output with my bass amp and it's working (alas crappy guitar sound) but i want the sound to come from the actual Internal speakers from my G5 until i get proper studio monitors, any advice would be cool ..

Also, what do you guys think of these ..

I've already blown way over my budget on my Imac and software so i need some pretty cheap monitors that will do the job nicely.

Re: Connecting Audio Interface

you won't be able to make the sound come out of the computer speakers while your playing. You can playback what you've already recorded, otherwise you need headphones or need to send it to an amplifier. There isn't any hidden options, features or add-ons that will allow what your asking.

Re: Connecting Audio Interface

I used to be able to run the Toneport's headphone output into the line-in on my audio card on my PC, but I haven't found an option like that under my G5 yet. I know it has a line in, but it won't just do raw playback.

So, this is what I do. I use Garageband. It plays back what you're playing with damn near zero latency.

Re: Connecting Audio Interface

I'm using Cubase SX3 for my recordings, Could i use a guitar combo to allow the toneports sound to come out for monitoring, and then use the internal mac speakers for playback/normal sound?

Re: Connecting Audio Interface

You really need a set of speakers, lol. At least a stereo desktop setup. The internal speaker on the G5 is made for beeps and that's about it.

Re: Connecting Audio Interface

O.k so can the speakers be used for monitoring while playing aswell as playback? Can they be used with my other audio liances apart form recording like I-tunes or would you suggest getting a seperate pair? Do the speakers need to be active or passive (or doesn't it matter?) and where would these go in conjunction with my G5 and Toneport?

Re: Connecting Audio Interface

I've just got my own Cubase SX3 after using my freinds, but i have a problem .. I can't hear anything. The music i have recorded in the past on cubase seems to be playing but there is absolutley no sound. I don't have external speakers and i'm running my guitar through a line 6 toneport .. anyone know how to get sound?
