Cool Edit Pro questions

Ok, my first question is this...right now I'm using Cool Edit Pro without a mixer or anything, and I want to record using the line-in on my sound card. Where do I set it so it records from line in?

Question 2...When I try importing a .wav file, it compresses it horribly...any way to not compress it?

well, you want to open your volume control beside your clock, then go to options>properties>recording

then select Line-In.

I'm not sure about your 2nd question though

I did as you said, and it didn't work. Am I supposed to uncheck everything BUT line-in or what?

What do you mean, "import"? You should be able to just OPEN a wav file, unless the headers are screwed up somehow.
