Cubase question


what is the differnece between SE SL ans SX??

im scratching my head here?? is it just number of audio tracks and vst instruments?

There are too many differences to list-the Steinberg site should help.

From memory, some of the obvious ones are

Surround sound capabilities are only available on SX (I think)
The input bus arrangement in the mixer is reduced in SL
I think there are reduced track/VST/Effects capabilities compared with SX
Scoring facilities are limitted sub-SX
I suspect there may be limitations on the file import/export options
The dithering algo will be different

I have SX2, but could probably manage with SL, but have been caught on the upgrade ladder for the last 4 years so the upgrade to SX2 was reasonable.

SX allows you to control input levels, SL you must control them from your sound card. I think in neither of them can you view input bus level so no biggie.

SX has a jog dial.

If you are semi-pro, SL is fine fine fine.
