Cubase SX Users.

Hey there peeps,

Recently upgraded from audition 2.0 to Cubase SX.

I'm running the mixer straight through the pc via USB.

Using Audition, there is no delay whatsover when recording.

when using cubase (steinberg products), whenever I tap the mic, there is about a 1 second delay before it reaches the track?..

So, im guessing since audition workds fine with no time delay, it must be something in cubase? but cannot seem to find the problem.

Please help )
THANKS

Devices--Device setup--VST Multitrack--control panel.
You set the sond card buffer/latency here.

this is for sx2.xxx dunno if later versions are different.

Re: Cubase SX Users.

Just another reason to have a click track. for a few measures before the music starts, tap your pickup or hit muffed strings along with the click, or even the drum track, then visually review the waves and see if the spikes line up, if not, just drag them till they do. Even after goofing with your buffer, you may find it near impossible to get them to line up perfectly, and also, since PC's are finicky and sometimes run something in the background when you least suspect it, this can also change the latency temporarily. It's no big deal the drag the track back a little bit to line it up. Turn off the "snap to" setting so it doesn't 'snap' to the nearest 1/4 note, increase the viewable area. It's really only a few clicks even though it may seem like more aggravation reading this.

Let us know how it works out, and post a clip when you get something. I'll be happy to host it for you if you do not have anywhere to upload it.

Later, Darin
