designing a live room

hey guys

my mother is building a new house and i`ve been given the garage to use for all music stuff, i`ve decided that i want to set up my own studio out in the room but i not sure how to partition the room. i want to have a small live room primarily for vox and for micing up my cab, but i`d also like the ability to track drums there. the basical dimensions of the room is 260sq/ft and looks like
3925
---------------------------
i ooooooooooooooooooi
i 000000000000000000i
i 00000000000000000II
i 00000000000000000II
i 000000000000000000i 6720
i 000000000000000000i
i 00000000000000000II
i 00000000000000000II
i 000000000000000000i
i 000000000000000000i
-----.....................-----

the double II signify windows.
do you think i would get away with having my live room by the first window, like..
-------------------------
i00000000000000000i
i..............................i
i00000000000000000II
i00000000000000000II

this would give me about a metre and half between the back and front wall, i know this is a bit tight for drums but perfect for vx and guitar, or should i go with
................................
i000000000i00000000i
i000000000i00000000i
i000000000i00000000II
i............... i00000000II
i000000000000000000i

i know i could half the room but i`d prefer to have the control room as big as possible, those of you who as a similar set up how did you set it up? sorry about the crumy pictures..

I can't help you with the exact design, but poke around this forum, they'll probably be more helpful.

that is an incredible forum!!!!! thanks for sharing!!!! my wife and i just bought a house and the neighbors on one side of us are awful--much too concerned with what goes on at our place. so needless to say we're worried about what happens when she fires up her drums and i my guitar...we had one short band practice and when i stepped out to use the bathroom the neighbor guy was craning his neck over the fence trying to see what was going on...and they're the type to call the cops. so anyways, that site is a great resource as i start to plan my practice room!
